Jerold Berschler
Bio
Jerold S. Berschler is a founding member of the firm of Solomon, Berschler, Fabick, Campbell & Thomas, P.C. He has practiced in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania and the surrounding counties since 1972. He has been a Fellow of the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers since 1984 and has chaired and co-chaired numerous committees within that organization. He was instrumental in confirming the validity of and establishing the standards for Pre-Nuptial Agreements in Pennsylvania in the landmark case of Simeone v. Simeone, 581 A2d. 162 (Pa. 1990). The standard in the Simeone case has been extended to Post-Nuptial Agreements.
Mr. Berschler is a past chairman of the Montgomery County Family Law Committee and has chaired committees on support, paternity and equitable distribution. He is a frequent lecturer and contributor to the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Montgomery County Bar Association. He has lectured on such topics as the value and distribution of stock options in marital dissolution, examination of psychologists in custody cases, high income support cases, common law marriages and equitable distribution issues. Each year since 2004 Mr. Berschler has been selected by his peers as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer.
Mr. Berschler was a Master of the Bench of the Doris Jonas Freed Inn of the Court and a former contributing editor to the Pennsylvania Family Lawyer for the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He has been selected to Strathmore's Who's Who Registry. He has been appointed by the Court of Common Pleas of Montgomery County as a Special Discovery Master in complex divorce cases, and has been selected as a mediator for the Horace Davenport Resolution Center. Mr. Berschler has handled hundreds of cases involving divorce, child custody, spousal support, alimony and division of marital assets. Many of his clients are referrals from other attorneys and he has represented numerous attorneys in their divorces.
Mr. Berschler also maintains an active civil practice in the area of personal injury, including numerous jury trials and countless arbitrations and hearings. He has been a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and Montgomery County Bar Association since 1972 and was admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in 1973 and to the United States Supreme Court in 1977.
