Rick has been in private practice since becoming a lawyer in 1979. He has handled cases in state and federal courts from Pittsburgh, to Scranton, to Philadelphia, and the counties in between. He has also handled cases in Delaware and Missouri with special permission from those courts.
Rick handles all types of personal injury cases, including automobile accidents, fall injuries on the property of others, injuries caused by defective products, medical malpractice and civil rights cases and other suits against governmental agencies.
Rick is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an organization exclusively for attorneys who have obtained verdicts or settlements of over a million dollars on behalf of their client. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Advocacy. He had served three terms as a member of the Board of Governors of what was then known as the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association (now the Pennsylvania Association for Justice).
Rick has taught seminars to other lawyers on suits against the government, recovering damages in death cases and how to handle automobile accident cases. He has been a guest lecturer on negligence law at Widener University.
Rick graduated Magna cum laude from LaSalle College (now University), and obtained his law degree from Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle, Pa. He practiced with a small firm in Harrisburg until 1982 when he moved to Southeastern Pennsylvania, where he has been in the private practice of law ever since.
Rick uses his thirty years of experience as a litigator and his knowledge and understanding of the law on behalf of every one of his clients, whether the case is large as the 1.3 million dollar settlement he obtained on behalf of an injured baby or as small as the minor property damage case he tried in district justice court, or the hundreds of cases in between in which he represented people injured by the wrongdoing of others.
